ABOUT THE AUTHORS
Helen Klein Ross’s fiction and poetry has been published in The New YorkerThe New York Times and literary journals and anthologies. She is the creator of The Traveler’s Vade Mecum, an anthology of poems with titles sourced from an 1853 compendium of over 8000 numbered phrases meant for travelers to telegraph. Contributors include former US poet laureate Billy Collins, Bollingen Prize winner Frank Bidart and Hudson Valley Writers’ Center director Jennifer Franklin. The anthology is forthcoming from Red Hen Press.

Abigail Thomas, the daughter of renowned science writer Lewis Thomas (The Lives of a Cell), is the author of seven books of fiction, memoir and poetry. Her Three Dog Life was named one of the best books of 2006 by the Los Angeles Times and the Washington Post. Her latest book What Comes Next and How to Like It moved Stephen King to name her “the Emily Dickenson of memoirists.” Abigail is the mother of four children and the grandmother of twelve. She lives and teaches in Woodstock, NY.
