Short, An International Anthology of Five Centuries of Short-Short Stories, Prose Poems, Brief Essays, and Other Short Prose Forms was edited by Alan Ziegler and published by Persea Books in 2014. This is a compendium of short works dating back to the 16th century, and includes Charles Baudelaire, Samuel Beckett, Franz Kafka, Virginia Woolf and other luminaries. Helen’s prose poem “Birth, Copulation, Death” appears on page 222.

Best of the Bellevue Literary Review is an anthology of 90 short stories, essays and poems chosen from the NYU School of Medicine’s prestigious semi-annual literary journal. Contributors include Rick Moody, Amy Hempel, Philip Levine, Meg Kearney and James Tate. Helen’s poem To a Child Contemplating Suicide appears on pg 236.

I Wanna Be Sedated: 30 Writers on Parenting Teenagers brings a sense of humor and perspective to the challenging, exhilarating, and occasionally mind-blowing task of raising teenagers. Contributors include Joyce Maynard, Anna Quindlen, Barbara Kingsolver and Louise Erdrich. Helen’s essay Their Bodies, Ourselves appears on pg 79.

How to Put Your Book Together and Get a Job in Advertising is the original insider’s guide to getting into the business of advertising, and is updated every few years. The latest issue includes Helen’s essay on social media best practices, pg. 213.
